Khinkali, something I crave often

I love good food. I’m not super picky, but I do want food that has a bold flavor. When I cook for myself I pack in as much as I can. Maybe sometimes it’s too much, but I figure if I’m going to the trouble to cook, I should make it special. And interesting. I’ll try most things once.

I enjoy when other people cook if they make it with passion. And I want them to enjoy the cooking experience as much as I enjoy the eating. Don’t just throw an egg in some hot oil and call it done. Think about each ingredient… is it adding to the dish? Is it better than the last time I made it? Food *is* a process. When you take the purest and simplest of ingredients, it’s a process to turn them into something delicious and delightful. Even picking an apple off a tree…

I need a new backpack

My beloved Fjällräven backpack was stolen in September ☹️

So… the question is, do I just replace it, or get something a little better? Honestly, it had some design flaws… it was difficult to open and close quickly and it was just a tad too small… if it was full, it was a little hard to get my laptop in and out (a major need when I’m flying). On the plus side, it was super sturdy – nothing tore or broke on it and this was key: “the light-coloured lining makes it easier to see the contents” – do you know how annoying black interiors are???

Sadly, they don’t seem to offer it in the beautiful red wine color mine was…

So: Zappos sent me a 10% discount coupon from their data breach class action settlement. Question: since I just bought a pair of shoes – and I REALLY don’t need more right now – do I get a backpack? I need to decide by 31 Dec.

I’m thinking of this:

or maybe this…

Or this?
